Registration:

Registration Forms are distributed to students each January.  Students registered at Father Redmond will receive these forms in their homeroom classes.  Incoming students from grade 8 to grade 9 who have been accepted will receive a registration package at their home school. There is a grade 9 Registration Night scheduled each year in March.

Option Forms:

Option forms allow students to select their courses for the upcoming year.  Please review the Programs and Admissions section of this website for a full listing of courses by grade, offered at Father Redmond. Both a student signature and parent signature are required on these forms.  Option forms will be given to current students in February of each year and to incoming students with their Registration package.

May, 2012 - FJR Arts Symposium - All RAP (Regional Arts Program) students will have an opportunity to listen to a panel of 7 representatives who will discuss the fine arts programs at their school.  The following schools will be participating:

    Terry Fox Humanitarian Award Program

    The value of the Terry Fox Humanitarian Award is up to $7,000 per year for a maximum of 4 years or until a first undergraduate degree is obtained.  Awards are available every year to graduating secondary students and those currently enrolled full-time in a Canadian post-secondary institution.  Completed applications forms and accompanying documents must be post-marked by February 1st of each year.  Please see selection criteria information on the following website:  www.terryfoxawards.ca

    Youth Civic Leadership 2012

    Rotary would like you to join in this celebration.  Are you a young person who has made a contribution to the community in which you live?  Do you know of someone who deserves recognition for the leadership they show?  Please help to encourage civic leadership in our city by recommending this individual for a Rotary Youth Leadership Award.

  • Investing In Our Diversity Scholarship Program

    General Information

     

    The Investing in Our Diversity Scholarship Programrecognizes the commitment of young people involved in anti‐racism, diversity initiatives and building healthy communities.

     

    WHAT DOES THIS PROGRAM OFFER?

    Scholarship recipients receive:

    • $4,000 scholarships to cover costs of tuition fees, books, tools, for your first year of post-secondary education or training (college, university, trade school)

    • Second year scholarships of up to $4,000 if you attend Ryerson University, University of Toronto,

    York University, Centennial College or the Ontario College for Art and Design

    Everyone who applies for a scholarship can receive:

    • Assistance in looking for and getting a job ‐ workshops to assist you with resume writing, job searching, and job matching to connect you with employers offering jobs in your area of interest.

    These services are offered by St. Stephen’s Community House’s Employment Centre.

    W. Garfield Weston Awards

    The W. Garfield Weston Awards program was established in 1999 by the generous contribution and vision of The W. Garfield Weston Foundation. Administered by the Canadian Merit Scholarship Foundation, the program is designed to recognize outstanding college-bound students who show a strong commitment to their fields of study and are interested in making positive contributions to their communities.

     

    Entrance Awards

    The W. Garfield Weston Awards program will distribute up to 25 Entrance W. Garfield Weston Awards to students entering their first year of college or CEGEP studies in Canada for use during the 2012-2013 academic year. Each Entrance W. Garfield Weston Award comprises a tuition waiver from a consortium college renewable for one or two additional years; an $8,000 stipend renewable for one or two additional years; access to summer program funding, up to $3,500; and mentorship.

    The Hatch Entrance Scholarships are provided exclusively for students qualifying for admission to an Engineering 1 program as full-time students.

Out-of-Province and International Destinations: 

Students planning to attend school out-of-province or in the United States and/or abroad should attend the International University Fair in September.  As well, students should sign up to write the Practice SAT Test (PSAT) with the Gifted Program in October. (See Ms. Romano or Ms. Borsk for more information)

Ontario students can receive OSAP assistance if they attend a school out-of-province that qualifies.  In order to determine which school qualifies, go to the OSAP website.  Follow the instructions on the attachment above.
