From the Principal continued...
Many of our Grade 12 students wrote AP (Advanced Placement) exams and we are eagerly awaiting the results.
It needs to be mentioned that, as of this year, our school has been officially recognized as a Congregated Advanced Placement Centre by the TCDSB for Area 2. Our Advanced Placement courses in English, French, Math, Science, and Psychology are offered in a congregated or clustered form.
Congratulations also go out to the graduating class of 2010, as over 90% of our graduates have successfully been admitted to their first choice of post-graduate institutions. We wish them well in their future endeavours. Many of them received very substantive scholarships to various Universities.
At the end of this school year, our community said goodbye to the following permanent staff:
Mrs. Irene Mercuri retired after outstanding service to Catholic Education, and is beginning a new phase in her life ... enjoying gardening and spending more time with her family.
Ms. Sandra Mudryj, Vice-Principal, has been re-assigned to another high school.
Mr. Anthony De Sa has transferred to another school.
Mr. Les Borbas has been seconded to the Ministry of Education
We thank them for their services at Father John Redmond C.S.S. and Regional Arts School and wish them well in their new locations.
We also welcome new teachers to our school:
Mrs. Mary Lou Hurley, Department Head of Special Education
Mr. Luigi Mazzucco, French, English, Religion
Ms. Mirella Evangelista, Business, Special Education
Mr. Diego Bueti, Mathematics
Ms. Tania Carducci, Social Science
We warmly welcome them and wish them every success at Father John Redmond.
I would also like to thank the members of our CSAC and all parents for their hard work and commitment to our school.
Thank you all for a great year. Have a restful, safe and enjoyable summer. See you all in September 2010!
D. Parwicki, OCT
